19
अहमयं कृतो भवति चिन्वतः |
अयि पतात्यहं निजविचारनम ||
ahamayaṃ kuto bhavati cinvataḥ
ayi patatyahaṃ nijavicāraṇam
From where, therefore, does this ’I-thought’ have its birth?
With vigilant and ever active mind
Seek this, and crestfallen the ’I’ becomes.
The search, itself, is the quest of Wisdom.
¿De dónde, por lo tanto, este “Yo-pensamiento” tiene su nacimiento?
Con mente vigilante y alguna vez activa
Busque esto, y abatido ‘Yo’ se hace.
La propia búsqueda, es la búsqueda de Sabiduría.

अहमि नाशभाज्यहमहंतया |
स्फुरति ह्रास्त्वयम परमपूर्णसत ||
ahami nāśa-bhā-jyahama-hantaya
sphurati hṛt-svayaṃ parama-pūrṇa-sat
This search pursued till ’I’ has disappeared,
There now vibrates the ’I-I’ all alone.
The quest is finished, there’s no more to seek.
For this is really the Infinite Self.
Esta búsqueda persiguió hasta el ‘Yo’ ha desaparecido,
Allí ahora vibra el absolutamente solo ’Yo-Yo’.
La búsqueda es terminada, no hay para buscar ya.
Porque este es realmente el Infinito Ser.

इदमहंपदाभिख्यमन्वहम |
अहमिलीनकेप्यलयसत्तया ||
idamaham padā’bhikhya-manvaham
aham-ilīnake’pyalaya sattyā
This is eternally the true import
Of the term ’I’. For in the deepest sleep
We do not cease to be. We still exist
Even though here there is no sense of ’I’.
Esto es eternamente el sentido verdadero
Del término ‘Yo’. Porque en el sueño más profundo
No dejamos de ser. Todavía existimos
Aunque aquí no haya sentido de ‘Yo’.
