Occult Powers
Bhagavan was asked about occult powers.
When asked if occult powers (Siddhis) can be achieved along with Omnipotence (Iswaratva) as mentioned in the last verse of Dakshinamurti Ashtakam, Maharshi said: “Let Omnipotence (Iswaratva) be accomplished first, and then the other question (about occult powers) may be raised.”

Below is the last verse of Sri Adi Sankara’s Dakshinamurti Ashtakam.
“In this hymn of praise, what has been explained is the state of being the Self of All. By hearing this, by reflecting on its meaning, by meditating on it and by reciting it one will attain Omnipotence certainly, but along with the grand attainment of the state of being the Self of All, also the unrestrained eight-fold supra-normal powers.”
